asciidoc software package provides Highly configurable text format for writing documentation, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install asciidoc
asciidoc is installed in your system.
Make ensure the asciidoc package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep asciidoc *
You will get with asciidoc package name, version, architecture and description in a table
